Moonta Street
Creative glow
The heart of Chinatown in the city of Adelaide is Moonta Street, with its shopfront businesses, retail outlets and an abundance of tasty restaurants. The wide pedestrian street was granted a $4million upgrade by the City of Adelaide Council to create a warm inviting presence for passersby, shoppers, and the hungry visitors in need of authentic Chinese cuisine.
Showing a great understanding of Chinese culture and the public’s appetite for a quality, aesthetically pleasing environment, with community safety - Cundall won the project.
The initial proposal by Bettina Easton from Cundall, included a collaboration with Vans the Omega a local artist to produce a mural depicting Chinese culture. CoLab Lighting were fortunate enough to work with Bettina in supplying the lighting, for ‘a story is told using light and art’.
