Barton Park - Banksia

Sublime Electrical - Recreational Precinct upgrade.
Barton Park Banksia, an organised sporting and recreational park for families, presented an unusual set of circumstances and technical issues which required a unique approach.

Community and care

Exterior luminaires used to illuminate the perimeter of the façade for general lighting and safety, needed technologies which enabled not only switching, dimming, sensor technology but to work to a time clock and the ability to set illumination levels based on the time of day covering various scenarios.
We need to talk

Not having a dedicated automated lighting control system due to budget constraints, a recommendation by 'Bettina Easton' Associate Lighting Designer Cundall to contact CoLab, one of the initial lighting suppliers for the project. We approached CoLab direct for their experience and knowledge, asking them to think outside the square and find new emerging technology that suited the environment.
Always listening

Colab listened to the requests set by us and Cundall and started their search for a solution that not only worked but met the budget restraints set by the client. Tridonic were engaged with the help of the technical manager 'Anthony Wright' and arranged a meeting at Colab’s office based in Kingsgrove.
On the day

The requirements were discussed in detail and a solution came shortly after.
A combination of DALI-2 dimming with the aid of Casambi wireless technologies matching the sensors, complete technical data sheets and wiring schematics.
The final word
Both Colab and Tridonic attended the site after installation to assist with commissioning and to further advise our head of technical at Sublime on how the system works and how they can maintain the system after hand-over.
The result meets the requirements perfectly. We were impressed with the attention given to the project by CoLab and their responsiveness to the task.T
