Memorialised Kerstin Thompson Architects have won the Victorian Chapter of the 2023 AIA Awards, in the Public Architecture Category for The Melbourne Holocaust Museum. A huge thank you to Bettina Easton from Cundall for choosing CoLab Lighting to supply the luminaires.

Old and New

423 X 554 Slv 1

Illuminated knowledge - Housing an incredible collection of eyewitness testimonies, historical documents, and artefacts, light was used with intent and as a medium, welcoming individuals, but also as a metaphor, illuminating the knowledge held within the learning centre.

Connections - Track lighting helps guide you through the intentionally designed labyrinth of confronting realities, spotlighting images, artefacts, and documents of the time.

Elegance

423 X 554 Slv 2

Subtle light - Thoughtfully placed downlights subtly illuminated the hallways with just enough light for guiding vision, without distracting from the sobering notations displayed.

Light separation - Walls and ceilings in the atriums and platformed staircases are topped with Neon Flex to divide the timber lined surfaces, creating a linear path.
